Anggota DPRD Kabupaten Bangka, Hermas Suhadi, mengecam tindakan polisi Malaysia yang telah menangkap petugas pengawas Perikanan dari Kementrian Kelautan dan Perikanan (KKP). “Setelah kejadian ini, Pemerintah Indonesia harus secepatnya mengambil sikap tegas terhadap penangkapan warga negara Indonesia yang secara sah tidak melakukan pelanggaran hukum Internasional,” katanya, di Sungailiat, Senin.Selain Pemerintah Indonesia harus bisa secepatnya mengambil petugas pengawas perikanan dari tahanan polisi Malaysia, para nelayan Malaysia yang terbukti mencuri ikan diperairan Indonesia harus dijatuhi sanksi sesuai dengan hukum yang berlaku.– Hermas Su
Ia mengatakan, justru dalam hal ini bangsa Indonesia telah dirugikan oleh penangkapan ikan secara ilegal (ilegal fishing) oleh para nelayan Malaysia. “Sumber daya alam hayati kita telah dicuri oleh bangsa lain, begitupula warga negara yang telah mempertahankan haknya justru malah ditangkap,” katanya.
Hermas mengatakan, mempertahankan hak dari segala macam gangguan dari negara lain adalah suatu kewajiban sebagai putra bangsa Indonesia. “Selain Pemerintah Indonesia harus bisa secepatnya mengambil petugas pengawas perikanan dari tahanan polisi Malaysia, para nelayan Malaysia yang terbukti mencuri ikan diperairan Indonesia harus dijatuhi sanksi sesuai dengan hukum yang berlaku,” ujarnya.
Ia mengatakan bahwa sikap pemerintah Malaysia kerap merugikan bagi pemerintah Indonesia, dimana sebelumnya kasus Ambalat juga disebabkan oleh ulah pemerintah Indonesia.
Kecaman yang sama juga disampaikan oleh Ketua Himpunan Pengusaha Ikan dan Nelayan Sungailiat (HPINS) Muhammad Ali, dikatakan bahwa polisi Malaysia tidak punya alasan menangkap petugas pengawas perikanan dari KKP. “Nelayan Malaysia yang berani mencuri ikan di Indonesia, tetapi justru polisi Malaysia malah menangkap petugas Indonesia,” katanya.
Ia menyarankan, agar petugas pengawas perikanan hendaknya dilengkapi persenjataan dan armada kapal yang lengkap sehingga dapat melaksanakan tugas dengan maksimal selain melakukan kerja sama dengan pihak penegak hukum lainnya.
Ketegangan antara Indonesia dan Malaysia mulai terlihat tatkala kapal perang Malaysia berkali-kali memasuki perairan Indonesia terutama diwilayah Ambalat.
Pemerintahpun sudah merespon pelanggaran ini dengan jalan mengirimkan nota diplomatik berkal-kali, yang sudah tentu hasilnya tidak pernah ditanggapi serius oleh Pihak Malaysia. Wacana perangpun mulai bergulir, bagaimana dengan kekuatan militer kedua negara ?
